ASTM D5630 - For Plastic Core Content
Material Properties Testing
Ignis Labs tests the properties of combustible materials through multiple means. The ASTM D5630 test method is used by us for evaluating the inorganic residues from plastics ash.
The test method determines the inorganic content of plastics through the destructive ashing process. The test method includes ash level of 0.01 percent. The procedure determines the residual solids in the polymer; however it cannot be used to locate the individual chemical components of ash.
Ignis conducts other tests such as heat of combustion in accordance to ISO 1716, X-Ray diffraction and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy to further determine the properties of materials tested and compute the energy content within the entire system and its collective safety.
